Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist, filmmaker, and writer. He was one of the founders of the Pop Art movement in the United States. Pop art is a major art movement which is characterized by themes and techniuqes that are drawn from popular mass culture (advertising, comic books). ("Pop" is from the word "popular"). Andy is best known for prints of consumer products and everyday objects including Campbell's Soup Cans and poppy flowers. He is also known for the quotation "In the future everybody will be world-famous for 15 minutes".
